The Wccftech portal has published the first test results for the updated RTX 5070 (12 GB) laptop graphics card. The figures are controversial: judging by the benchmarks, the ?upgraded? version is virtually indistinguishable from the base model, despite a 50% increase in VRAM capacity. According to the source, in the TimeSpy, Steel Nomad Light, and Superposition 1080p Extreme tests, the 12GB version of the RTX 5070 showed the same performance as the 8GB version, and in Fire Strike Extreme, it was actually 2% slower. In AI scenarios (Qwen 3.5 9B Q40), both graphics cards were also on par, and only in the 27B UD IQ2 test did the model with 12 GB of VRAM finally demonstrate a 50% performance increase. In games, however, according to the journalists, a similar ?boost? shouldn't be expected. It is known that the 12GB RTX 5070 will not replace the 8GB version, but will likely become a more expensive alternative to it. |
