ASUS has unveiled its TUF Gaming Platinum series of power supplies with ratings of 850, 1000, and 1200 watts. Their main feature is the switch to GaN transistors?a technology widely used in fast chargers for mobile devices. The company claims this increases energy efficiency by up to 30%, reduces heat generation, and makes the system more stable.

The new 80 Plus Platinum-certified power supplies should perform particularly well with high-end graphics cards. Thanks to compact GaN components, the design allows for larger heatsinks and improved airflow, while noise levels are claimed to not exceed 30 dB.

The power supplies feature Japanese capacitors, a protective coating on the PCB against dust and moisture, and dual-ball-bearing fans. Support for modern ATX 3.1/PCIe 5.1 standards and a 12V-2x6 connector with up to 600W output for new graphics cards is also highlighted. ASUS is so confident in its power supplies that it offers an 8-year warranty on them.

Prices for the new power supplies have not yet been announced.
