Reputable insider OnLeaks has published CAD renders of the upcoming Sony Xperia 1 VIII flagship. He revealed not only the smartphone's design features but also its dimensions and some specifications. The main external change is the redesigned main camera module. Instead of the familiar vertical block, a larger square ?island? with three lenses and additional sensors is now used. Because of this, the body has become slightly wider and thicker: 74.4 mm compared to 74 mm on its predecessor, and 8.58 mm instead of 8.2 mm, excluding the camera bump. With the cameras included, the total thickness is 11.37 mm. The device will remain about 162 mm tall. According to an insider, the smartphone will retain a 6.5-inch flat display with symmetrical bezels at the top and bottom?there will be no notch or hole for the front-facing camera. The front-facing stereo speakers and the classic headphone jack are also expected to remain. Based on previous years, the Xperia 1 VIII could be unveiled as early as next month. |
