The startup Pixelpaw Lab has unveiled an unusual gaming controller called Phase. The device's unique feature is its transformability: it easily converts from a gaming mouse into a gamepad.
ASUS has announced the launch of the ROG Raikiri II gamepad, which the company positions as a premium accessory. The model's distinctive features include magnetic TMR sticks and triggers, as well as buttons with microswitches instead of classic ?membranes.?
The ABXY block, D-Pad, and rear and auxiliary buttons above the triggers are based on microswitches. The gamepad can be connected to a PC, Xbox (One, X|S), or Xbox Ally via Bluetooth, a Type-C cable, or a radio channel using an adapter. In the latter two cases, the polling rate is 1000 Hz when connected to a PC and 250 Hz when used with an Xbox.
The portable gaming PC market is growing rapidly and may soon see another big name join the fray. GIGABYTE CEO Eddie Lin announced at CES 2026 that the company is indeed considering releasing its own portable device, but only on one condition. The device must offer a unique experience and not be just another Steam Deck clone.
