For months, gamers have been burying Microsoft's gaming division, saying the company is making bad decisions and has lost the arms race with Sony. However, if you believe insiders, the company still has an ace up its sleeve. Windows Central shared some interesting information about the inner workings of the American corporation and its hardware projects. In short, the skeptics are wrong: it is not going to leave the gaming market. For example, if you believe insiders, Microsoft is working on a portable Xbox codenamed Keenan. The direct development was undertaken by PC and component manufacturers (we are talking about companies like ASUS, Lenovo, MSI and Razer), while the company only acted as a partner. Apparently, gamers will find an analogue of Steam Deck, except that instead of SteamOS, the hybrid console will run on the Windows operating system. The launch of the device will take place at the end of 2025. The corporation hasn't forgotten about consoles either. According to Windows Central sources, the Xbox Series successor will hit stores in 2027. It is also planned to implement integration with Windows - this will simplify the process of porting games to PC. But that's not all: at the same time, the company will release its own portable Xbox model (not the above-mentioned Keenan, but a separate internal project). Unfortunately, nothing is known about it. Microsoft is also engaged in the production of new controllers. It should be noted that Phil Spencer spoke about the company's new consoles back in 2024. However, there have been no official announcements yet, and everything said above is just rumors, nothing more. |
