TECNO is preparing to release an updated version of its Universal Tone technology aimed at improving the accuracy of skin tones in photos. Since its release in 2023, the company has continued to refine its development and ahead of the launch has revealed the results. During development, TECNO launched a web portal that allowed users to determine their true skin tone. This helped create an expanded Multi-Skin Tone color chart, which now includes 372 color samples. In comparison, the last version had 268 of them. According to the developers, the improved version of Universal Tone allows you to display much more natural and realistic images. In addition, TECNO has improved its proprietary Multi-Skin Tone Color Restoration Engine with an improved skin tone calibration algorithm (CCM) and an updated spectrum-based automatic white balance (AWB) algorithm. All of this, the company reports, will improve color accuracy by more than 50%. The updated Universal Tone will debut in the upcoming CAMON 40 series, scheduled for release at MWC 2025. |
