Long before the revival of portable consoles, the PlayStation Vita stood out on the market, but Sony eventually discontinued support for it. However, it seems that the company has decided to return to this direction. Technical experts from Digital Foundry believe that Sony is already preparing to release its new portable console. They came to this conclusion after the announcement of the power-saving feature for the PlayStation 5, which was presented in July. Digital Foundry experts believe that gamers will not sacrifice performance for questionable savings. The reduced power of the PS5 is likely a benchmark for developers to make it easier for them to adapt their titles for the portable version of the console in the future. Sony introduced the power-saving mode in July. With it, gamers can reduce the PlayStation 5's energy consumption, but game performance will decrease and some gameplay and technical features will be unavailable. The mode is currently in beta and only works with titles that support it. |
