Qualcomm is preparing a new generation of flagship processors for notebooks, the official premiere of which is expected only in the fall. However, there is already information about the alleged characteristics of the top chip, which can noticeably raise the performance bar for Windows devices on ARM. The source of the leak was a reliable German whistleblower Roland Quandt. According to his data, Qualcomm is actively testing a new processor under the model number SC8480XP - this is a potential Snapdragon X2 Elite or Snapdragon X Elite Gen 2. The chip is positioned as a successor to the Snapdragon X Elite, and apparently will be noticeably more powerful than it. Specifically, the insider reports 18 cores (six more than the Snapdragon X Elite) and support for 64GB of RAM ![]() It is expected that the new platform will likely utilize the company's proprietary Oryon v3 cores. Qualcomm claims this should provide a noticeable performance boost per watt. Qualcomm has already announced the dates of the Snapdragon Summit event - it will be held from September 23 to 25 in Hawaii.
