Ricoh has announced the imminent release of the GR IV Monochrome camera. The model will feature a new monochrome sensor and will be the company's first such model with image enhancement algorithms.

The Ricoh GR IV Monochrome will feature a new 25.7-megapixel black-and-white CMOS sensor with ISO up to 409,600, a three-inch touchscreen, and a 28-millimeter autofocus lens with an f/2.8 aperture. It also promises five-axis stabilization and about 53 GB of memory for storing photos and videos. However, the specifications are subject to change before the camera goes on sale in spring 2026.

According to the manufacturer, the future novelty will be the company's first monochrome camera with ?image control? functions to ?convey the expressiveness and depth inherent in monochrome photography.? The price has not yet been announced, but it is known that the GR IV Monochrome will be based on the base GR IV, which sells for $1,500.
