Along with the flagship K80 Ultra smartphone, Redmi brand has introduced the compact gaming tablet K Pad. It gets a flagship MediaTek processor, a high refresh rate screen and two USB ports for convenient charging while in use.

The tablet has been equipped with a metal body and an 8.8-inch IPSIn Plane Switching (IPS) panels are an expensive option but they have excellent colour accuracy and far greater viewing angles then TN and VA panels (Not that we condone slouching while gaming). They are great for graphics design and photo editing. However, the only downside to IPS panels if that they can sometimes have a slower response time than TN panels. This is the only real problem if you’re a very competitive gamer or want to game in 3D. As of late “IPS” has become a big marketing word. Step into an Apple store and you would be hard pressed talking to someone that didn’t mention Apple’s “brand new IPS Displays!” In fact, Apple is probably one of the biggest marketers of this “new-found” technology. As a business person myself, this is when you have to tip your hat to Apple’s awesome marketing machine. Why? Well, because IPS is actually nothing new. In fact, this technology was originally invented in 1996 by Hitachi..screen with 3K (3008×1880 pixels) resolution, 165Hz refresh rate and 1080Hz touch layer frequency. The display is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 5Introducing Corning Gorilla Glass 5, a new glass solution that raises the bar for protection against drops higher than ever, surviving 1.6-meter, shoulder-height drops onto hard, rough surfaces up to 80% of the time. That is up to 4X better in drop failure height than competitive glasses, giving consumers the drop protection they need if they fumble their phones while snapping photos, texting on the go, watching videos, or performing other everyday activities at or below shoulder level. and supports HDR10, Dolby Vision and HDRHDR stands for High Dynamic Range imaging, and it is an old photography practice recently introduced to cameraphones like the iPhone and some Android devices (or with the use of special apps). Vivid technologies, and the brightness reaches 700 nits. The novelty is only 6.46 mm thick and weighs 326 grams.

The hardware platform is a top-end MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ processor, built on 3nm process technology. For heat dissipation, an evaporative chamber with an area of 12,050 mm² is used, thanks to which the tablet is able to cope with long gaming loads. Also announced are an X-motor for tactile feedback, a powerful audio system with stereo speakers and an advanced antenna architecture to reduce latency in games.

A 7,500mAh battery with 67W fast charging support is responsible for battery life. It has two ports on different edges to make it convenient to charge the tablet while gaming. And to reduce battery wear and tear, there is a bypass charging feature - power is supplied directly to the motherboard. Redmi K Pad runs HyperOS 2 based on Android 15.

The tablet is already available in China in green, purple and black colors. Prices start at 2799 yuan (~$390) for the 8 + 256GB configuration and go up to 4199 yuan (~$585) for the top version with 16GB + 1TB.
