realme has officially unveiled an experimental smartphone with a 15,000 mAh battery. According to the brand, a single charge is enough for 5 days of active use, up to 18 hours of continuous video recording, or 50 hours of video playback. Despite such an impressive battery, the device does not resemble a ?brick? in appearance. Judging by the demonstration photos, its thickness does not exceed one centimeter, and the body may even be thinner than some 10,000 mAh power banks. The smartphone also supports reverse charging ? it can power a drone, car refrigerator, and other gadgets. However, for the sake of a huge battery, the developers had to sacrifice performance: the concept is still closer to entry-level devices than to flagships. The company emphasized that this is only an engineering sample and will not go into mass production. Its purpose is to demonstrate the possibilities of the layout and the potential for increasing battery life in smartphones. Nevertheless, the trend towards increasing battery capacity is already evident: models with batteries over 7000 mAh have become commonplace, and by next year we can expect to see devices with batteries from 9000 mAh. |
