The first dedicated gaming mouse in history, the Boomslang, was introduced back in 1999, when Razer was a subsidiary of Karna LLC. In 2005, Razer became an independent company, and now, to mark the 20th anniversary of this event, it is releasing an updated version of the iconic mouse in a limited edition of 1,337 copies. The Boomslang 20th Anniversary Edition retains the design of the original model, including leather-trimmed right and left buttons, a curved body reminiscent of a snake's head, and translucent inserts. Improvements include Razer Gen 4 optical switches and a Focus Pro 45K Gen 2 sensor. The company has also added support for wireless charging, for which the Razer Mouse Dock Pro is included in the package, Chroma RGB lighting, eight programmable controls, and support for HyperPolling technology with a polling rate of up to 8000 Hz. The release date and price of the Razer Boomslang 20th Anniversary Edition have not yet been announced. |
