The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which debuted in 2023 and on the basis of which a large number of smartphones were released, suddenly received two new variants at once. They have already appeared in Qualcomm's database, but they differ significantly from the base version of the flagship chip. The main difference is the six-core architecture instead of the usual eight cores. The new products received the model numbers SM8650-Q-AA and SM8650-Q-AB and operate at frequencies up to 3.0 and 3.3 GHz, respectively. According to Geekbench, one of these chips is already being tested in a Lenovo tablet with the codename ?Pineapple? - it was previously used in the context of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. According to the benchmark, the SM8650-Q-AB variant includes one high-performance core at 3.3GHz, four cores at 2.96GHz and one energy-efficient core at 2.27GHz, while the Adreno 750 GPU ![]() That said, there have been no official announcements yet from Qualcomm or mobile gadget makers.
