Qualcomm recently confirmed the name of its new flagship mobile processor, and today finally announced its release date. As it turns out, the premiere is just around the corner. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor will be unveiled at the Snapdragon Summit 2025 event, which will take place from September 23 to 25. One of the first smartphones based on the new chip is expected to be the Xiaomi 17. According to the manufacturer, the processor will be the ?successor? to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8 Elite chips. The reason for returning to the Gen prefix is that the company is simplifying the Snapdragon lineup for consumers. |
