Patriot has introduced two new solid-state drives from the Viper family for the M.2 slot. Both new products are positioned as consumer models, and their key features are high throughput and decent memory cell endurance. The Patriot Viper PV563 drive with a PCIe Gen 5 x4 interface is available in 1, 2, and 4 TB capacities. It supports HMB technology (using system memory as a buffer) and dynamic SLC caching. Linear read/write speeds and cell life vary: 4 TB ? 14,000/11,000 MB/s, 3000 TBW 2 TB: 14,000/10,000 MB/s, 1400 TBW 1 TB: 14,000/7,500, 700 TBW The Patriot PA523 is available in versions with similar memory capacities, but its read and write speeds are lower: 4 TB: 10,000/8,500 MB/s, 3,000 TBW 2 TB: 10,000/8200 MB/s, 1400 TBW 1 TB: 10,000/6500 MB/s, 700 TBW Both models come with a five-year manufacturer's warranty.
