Panasonic has introduced the Lumix S1II and S1IIE full-frame mirrorless cameras. The new products are positioned as tools for professional video shooting, offer significant improvements over previous models and boast practical bodies suitable for use in various weather conditions. At the heart of the Lumix S1II is a 24.1-megapixel sensor with a maximum dynamic range of 15 stops. It is capable of recording 5.8K video at 60 fps, 4K at 120 fps and 2K at 240 fps, as well as burst stills at up to 70 fps. The Lumix S1IIE features a 24.2-megapixel image sensor with 6K @ 30 fps and 4K @ 60 fps video recording, and burst photo capture speeds of up to 30 fps. The claimed dynamic range of the sensor is 14+ stops. Both models have the same feature set: support for open shutter video recording (5.1K @ 60p for the S1II and 6K @ 30p for the S1IIE), hybrid autofocus with AI tracking of people in the frame, 8.0-step built-in image stabilization, an electronic viewfinder with a resolution of 5.76 million pixels, as well as support for ARRI LogC3 and Apple ProRes RAW HQ formats. Complementing the list of features card slots SD/CFexpress Type B and built-in display at 1.84 million pixels with the ability to adjust the angle of tilt. The Panasonic Lumix S1II and S1IIE are priced at $3200 and $2500 respectively in the US market. |
