The new Acer Nitro VG240YE gamer monitor has been launched. It has a relatively small screen with thin frames, support for AMD FreeSync and high refresh rate, as well as a set of technologies for eye protection. The monitor features a 23.8-inch IPS  In Plane Switching (IPS) panels are an expensive option but they have excellent colour accuracy and far greater viewing angles then TN and VA panels (Not that we condone slouching while gaming). They are great for graphics design and photo editing. However, the only downside to IPS panels if that they can sometimes have a slower response time than TN panels. This is the only real problem if you’re a very competitive gamer or want to game in 3D. As of late “IPS” has become a big marketing word. Step into an Apple store and you would be hard pressed talking to someone that didn’t mention Apple’s “brand new IPS Displays!” In fact, Apple is probably one of the biggest marketers of this “new-found” technology. As a business person myself, this is when you have to tip your hat to Apple’s awesome marketing machine. Why? Well, because IPS is actually nothing new. In fact, this technology was originally invented in 1996 by Hitachi..screen with Full HD1080p (also known as Full HD or FHD and BT.709) is a set of HDTV high-definition video modes characterized by 1080 horizontal lines of vertical resolution and progressive scan, as opposed to interlaced, as is the case with the 1080i display standard. The term usually assumes a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:9, implying a resolution of 1920x1080 (2.1 megapixel) often marketed as Full HD.resolution and 100Hz refresh rate. It is specified to be able to display 99% of the sRGB color space and brightness at 250 nits. Viewing angles reach 178 degrees. AMD FreeSync support prevents image tearing during dynamic scenes.To connect to a computer or console there are DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 1.4 connectors. The monitor also features built-in 2W stereo speakers, but you can also connect headphones or an external speaker. The monitor's screen has received Acer ComfyView anti-reflective coating. There is a blue light filter and flicker reduction technology to reduce eye strain. The display can be tilted from -5? to +20? and can also be hung on the wall. |
