MSI has unveiled the AI Edge mini PC, which is positioned as a device for running AI models locally. However, thanks to its powerful iGPU, the new product can also be used for other tasks, including running modern games. The MSI AI Edge hardware platform is based on the flagship AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor. Its built-in Radeon 8060S with 40 computing units is comparable to the mobile GeForce RTX 4060 in some scenarios. The chip's AI performance is up to 50 TOPS. At the same time, the computer is capable of allocating up to 96 GB of LPDDR5X-8000 RAM According to the manufacturer, the new hardware is powerful enough to run local AI models with up to 120 billion parameters at a speed of about 15 tokens per second. The manufacturer notes that all the main components of the device are equipped with their own heat sinks for effective heat dissipation. The mini-PC will come with proprietary ?neural network? software for local database processing. The launch date and price of the MSI AI Edge will be announced later. |
