In addition to the M.2 2280 SSD format, Kingston has launched a more compact solution, the NV3 in the M.2 2230 form factor. The new product supports PCIe 4.0 interface and offers high performance for compatible notebooks and portable gaming consoles. The NV3 features a Gen 4x4 NVMe controller and is available in three configurations: 500GB, 1TB and 2TB. The first provides read and write speeds of 5000 and 3000 MB / s respectively, the second has these figures are 6000 and 4000 MB, and the top version reaches 6000 MB / s when reading and 5000 MB / s when writing. For the 500GB variant, 160 TBW is claimed, while the 1TB and 2TB versions have 320 TBW and 640 TBW respectively. The drive has a lifespan of up to 2 million hours. The Kingston NV3 measures just 22 x 30 x 2.3 mm and weighs 2.6 grams or 2.8 grams for the terabyte versions. The 500GB NV3 will cost ?42, the 1TB version will cost ?61, and the 2TB version will cost ?118. |
