Keychron has expanded its G series of gaming mice with the release of the new G4 and G5 models. These new additions, featuring symmetrical designs, are notable for their light weight, high polling rate, and the ability to choose between three connection modes. The G4 is powered by a PixArt 3950 sensor with a resolution of up to 30,000 dpi and a 8000 Hz polling rate when connected via a cable or USB dongle. Alternatively, a Bluetooth module with a lower polling rate can be used. The mouse weighs 55 grams. Another feature of the model is the ability to quickly switch profiles using buttons on the body. The form factor and specifications of the G5 are almost identical to those of the G4, but the mouse itself is slightly lighter (43 grams). However, the lower-end model lacks the ability to switch profiles without the proprietary utility on a PC. Both new models are equipped with a 500 mAh battery. The Keychron G4 can operate for up to 34 hours at a polling rate of 8000 Hz. When this rate is reduced to 1,000 Hz, battery life increases to 130 hours. According to the brand, the G5 model can last ?a few hours? longer. The Keychron G4 is sold only in white for $80 in the U.S. market, while the G5 model is available only in black and costs $110. |
