Insta360 has unveiled the Go Ultra, a compact action camera with a magnetic mount. Its main features include reliable water protection, AI support for improved image quality, and a complete accessory kit with an additional battery and flip-up screen. The new product is equipped with a 1/1.28-inch sensor and a wide-angle lens (f/2.85, 156?). It is capable of recording HDR  HDR stands for High Dynamic Range imaging, and it is an old photography practice recently introduced to cameraphones like the iPhone and some Android devices (or with the use of special apps). video at 4K @ 60 fps or 1080p @ 120 fps. The manufacturer also claims that the PureVideo AI function can clean up videos from digital noise and increase their brightness in difficult lighting conditions. Other known specifications include ISO range (100?6400) and shutter speed (1/8000?120 seconds).The camera body weighs 56 grams and is IPX8 waterproof, with a claimed underwater shooting capability of up to 10 meters. The included Action Pod case with a magnetic platform can be used for previewing or charging the camera, even while it is in use. With a special plate, the gadget can also be attached directly to clothing. According to the specifications, the action camera will work for up to 70 minutes in video recording mode on a single charge, and up to 200 minutes (1080p @ 24 fps) when paired with the Action Pod. In the latter case, the accessory's 2.2-inch flip-up touchscreen can be used to view the footage. A microSD card with a capacity of up to 2 TB can be used to store videos. The Insta360 Go Ultra starter kit is available in the US for $449. It includes the camera with Action Pod, a safety lanyard, a magnetic clip and pendant, and a lens cap. |
