HUAWEI presented three SSDs, the main novelty of which is eKitStor Xtreme 116P for 62 TB with sequential read speed up to 13.5 GB/s. The company told us what the novelties are interesting and for which usage scenarios they are suitable. The eKitStor Xtreme 116P SSD is based on QLC memory and supports the PCIe 5.0 bus, with a storage capacity of up to 62TB. According to HUAWEI, the drive is designed for data centers or corporate servers and can replace the usual HDD. In this case, the performance should increase by 2.4 times, capacity - by half, the occupied space can be reduced by 50%, and the total cost of ownership should remain the same. HUAWEI also showed the eKitStor Shield 200, an aluminum rugged SSD with a maximum data transfer rate of 2000MB/s. It supports AES-XTS 256 hardware encryption, has IP67 protection, Type-C port (3.2 GEN 2x2) and can work with various systems such as Windows, macOS, Android and HarmonyOS. The third new product is the OceanStor Dorado 2020. This is an array of SSD drives designed to work with resource-intensive applications. According to the company, it is more reliable than analogs at a comparable price, 20-80 times more productive, and another 30% more energy efficient. In addition, the company claims that the speed of deployment of the new product in the data center is only 30 minutes. |
