HUAWEI overtakes Apple as the leader in the smartwatch market |

In the second quarter of 2025, global shipments of smartwatches grew by 8% after a prolonged decline, according to Counterpoint Research. One of the key factors was the activity of HUAWEI, which overtook Apple in sales volume for the first time. Over the year, the Chinese manufacturer increased shipments by 52%, with over 75% of devices going to the domestic market. Additional growth was provided by sales in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Models in the $100?400 range are particularly popular. Apple, on the other hand, recorded another decline of 3% at the end of the quarter. This is the seventh consecutive decline, but the company retains its leadership in the premium segment thanks to its health monitoring features and loyal audience. According to the report, Xiaomi increased shipments by 38% thanks to budget models, while Samsung repeated Apple's dynamics and lost 3%. Analysts predict that in 2025, the smartwatch market as a whole will grow by about 3%, mainly due to China.
