HUAWEI has expanded its range of proprietary data storage solutions with the introduction of its flagship SSD drive, the eKitStor Xtreme 201. In addition to its high speed, the new product is notable for its good memory cell endurance and relatively affordable price. The declared capacity of the terabyte SSD is 2000 TBW, and the average mean time between failures is up to 2 million hours. HUAWEI eKitStor Xtreme 201 with NVMe 2.0 (PCIe 4.0) interface can ?accelerate? up to 7400 MB/s in sequential read operations, as well as use system memory as a buffer. Among other features, the manufacturer mentions a wide temperature range (exact figures are not specified) and high energy efficiency. In the Chinese market, the HUAWEI eKitStor Xtreme 201 is sold at a price starting at $128 for the 1 TB version. |
