Honor has unveiled a new budget smartphone called the X6b Plus. Its main features are a durable body, good battery life, and a recognizable design.
The Honor X6b Plus's 6.56-inch IPS In Plane Switching (IPS) panels are an expensive option but they have excellent colour accuracy and far greater viewing angles then TN and VA panels (Not that we condone slouching while gaming). They are great for graphics design and photo editing. However, the only downside to IPS panels if that they can sometimes have a slower response time than TN panels. This is the only real problem if you’re a very competitive gamer or want to game in 3D. As of late “IPS” has become a big marketing word. Step into an Apple store and you would be hard pressed talking to someone that didn’t mention Apple’s “brand new IPS Displays!” In fact, Apple is probably one of the biggest marketers of this “new-found” technology. As a business person myself, this is when you have to tip your hat to Apple’s awesome marketing machine. Why? Well, because IPS is actually nothing new. In fact, this technology was originally invented in 1996 by Hitachi..screen with a resolution of 1612x720 pixels supports a refresh rate of 90 Hz, and the peak brightness of the panel is 780 cd/m².
The new device is powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 processor and has 8/256 GB of memory. The camera unit includes a 50 MP main module (f/1.8) and a depth sensor (2 MP, f/2.4), while a 5 MP front camera is provided for selfies and video calls.
The smartphone has a 5200 mAh battery (35 W fast charging) with a thickness of 8.39 mm and a weight of 192 grams. The body of the new device has been SGS certified for drop resistance. The device runs on Android 14 with MagicOS 8.0.
The Honor X6b is already on sale in the Philippines at a price of $118.
