A week after the Honor 600 Lite went on sale, the company shared details about one of the device's key features?its metal body. It is crafted using technology employed in the aerospace and automotive industries. The Honor 600 Lite is built around an all-metal frame created using vacuum die-casting technology instead of traditional stamping. This new method allows for complex geometric shapes to be achieved directly in the mold, while the frame's wall thickness is less than 0.25 mm?a feat impossible to achieve with conventional machining without sacrificing strength. The manufacturing cycle for a single part takes 35 seconds. To produce the frame, the company's engineers developed an aluminum alloy that is new to the industry. Its main difference from conventional alloys is its increased impact resistance. According to the developers, this improves the body's resistance to mechanical stress by 26% compared to traditional solutions. At the same time, the material can still be anodized to achieve various shades, and the finishing process involves applying an excimer coating with a grain size of 1.9 million particles per 1 cm². This gives the aluminum a velvety feel, making fingerprints less noticeable and simply pleasant to the touch. Among other advantages of vacuum die-casting, the manufacturer highlights the following: Ultra-low metal porosity Capability for heat treatment to enhance strength Material efficiency (enhanced environmental sustainability) The Honor 600 Lite weighs about the same as last year's model, but the body's rigidity has increased by 30% with a frame thickness of just 1.23 mm. The device passed SGS ?five-star? certification testing: it withstood a drop from a height of 1.8 meters without deformation. The camera module is also unique: the ring is manufactured using integrated ?cold? processing technology, creating the appearance of a seamless surface between the camera and the back panel of the body. This makes the design look more ?monolithic.? The smartphone is available in three colors: ?Desert Gold,? ?Velvet Gray,? and ?Velvet Black.? |
