Hisense has announced a designer model of CanvasTV TV with a matte screen for displaying digital paintings and photos in standby mode. CanvasTV is similar in functionality to Samsung's The Frame, but is significantly cheaper with comparable specifications, and thanks to its discreet design, CanvasTV can fit perfectly into the interior of the living room or bedroom.

The idea of a TV masquerading as a painting is not new. For example, Samsung has been producing The Frame model with a similar concept for several years. However, the starting price of CanvasTV is a few hundred dollars lower. The 55-inch version will cost the buyer $999, and the 65-inch version will cost $1299. In comparison, the 55-inch The Frame costs $1499 and the 65-inch version costs $1999.

The CanvasTV is also as good as Samsung's flagship model in terms of specs. It is equipped with a 4K matrix based on QLED technology and has an anti-reflective coating of the screen. In addition, the novelty supports a refresh rate of 144 Hz, is equipped with a sensor for automatic adjustment of brightness depending on conditions, and also supports playback of surround 2.0.2 sound.

The CanvasTV memory is already pre-installed with many reproductions of masterpieces of painting in various styles - from abstract art to Renaissance paintings.
Of course, the user can upload any favorite photos and paintings from his personal collection to the TV. At the same time, switching between the modes of displaying works of art and photos is carried out by simply pressing one button on the remote control.

The novelty also has a built-in motion sensor. As soon as everyone leaves the room, CanvasTV automatically turns off, saving energy. As soon as someone enters the room, the TV turns on again.

Note that last year at CES, Hisense already demonstrated a prototype of the M1 series frame TV. And recently a 55-inch model Art TV R7, equipped with a removable stand, was released in China. So the release of CanvasTV is a logical development of Hisense's ?picture in TV? concept.

Other manufacturers are also experimenting with a similar idea. For example, LG TVs of the latest models have Gallery Mode to show digital paintings, and many Smart TV manufacturers also pre-install special applications with image collections. However, Hisense CanvasTV is by far the best value for money design offering for buyers today, which looks like an interior element when not in use.

The CanvasTV comes with not only a wall mount, but also a replacement teak wood frame.
If you wish, you can purchase additional frames in white or walnut color.Sales of the TV will start this summer.
