Hannspree company presented an unusual Hybri monitor, the main feature of which is a transflective LCD screen with switchable backlight. It can work in both standard and ?paper? mode without glare and unnecessary strain on the user's eyes. The monitor is equipped with a 23.8-inch TN-matrix with 8-bit color depth (16.7 million shades). Its resolution is 1920x1080 pixels, its refresh rate is 75 Hz, and its response time is 5 ms. The peculiarity of the transflective screen is that there is a special layer inside that reflects light, while a regular LCD screen mostly absorbs it and looks very dim without LED backlighting. The brightness of the transflective screen depends on the intensity of light falling on it - almost like E-Ink displays. But the difference between Hybri and the latter is that the refresh rate is quite decent for a home model 75 Hz, so it has no artifacts when changing frames. If you want, you can also turn on the traditional backlight. Its brightness is only 50 nits, but this is enough for such a screen, as it will be needed only when working in the dark. In addition to the absence of glare and reflections, the monitor is interesting for its low power consumption. When the backlight is turned off, the manufacturer claims that it will save up to 80% compared to traditional models. The monitor comes with a stand (rotate, tilt, height, portrait mode adjustment). There are DisplayPort, HDMI and VGA ports for connecting to a PC.Hannspree Hybri price on the US market is $899. |
