Garmin has unveiled two new smartwatch models aimed at completely different audiences. The Tactix 8 Cerakote Edition is designed for extreme sports enthusiasts, while the Approach J1 is the company's first watch created specifically for young golfers.
The Garmin Tactix 8 Cerakote Edition is a large 51 mm watch with a 1.4-inch AMOLED AMOLED, which stands for Active Matrix OLED, is a hybrid display technology that pairs the active matrix backplane from a traditional TFT display with an OLED display. As a result of their active matrix natures, AMOLED displays have faster pixel switching response times than do traditional OLED displays, which are prone to ghosting when displaying fast moving animations.display, sapphire crystal, and titanium bezel. The model features a Cerakote ceramic-polymer coating that is resistant to abrasion, corrosion, and harsh environments. Over time, it wears naturally, giving the watch a unique look. The Tactix 8 model is designed for tactical tasks: it has a Jumpmaster mode for parachute jumps, equipment weight tracking during forced marches, simultaneous display of different coordinate systems, and an ?invisibility mode? that disables wireless modules but continues to record physiological data. The watch supports night vision devices, is equipped with an Applied Ballistics Ultralight ballistic calculator, and full navigation with multi-band GPS The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite-based navigation system made up of at least 24 satellites.
