Fujifilm has launched a new mirrorless camera called the X-E5. The device gets a new front panel control lever, built-in image stabilization system and improved processing algorithm thanks to the new X-Processor 5 chip. The basis of the Fujifilm X-E5 is a 40-megapixel X-Trans CMOS 5 HR (APS-C) sensor with an updated stabilization system. The novelty supports 6.2K @ 30 fps video recording and a tracking autofocus mode for shooting moving objects. On the camera body, in addition to the standard controls, there is a special dial for selecting film simulation modes. A new front panel flip lever supports five programmable functions, including Surround View, which provides visibility outside the frame when shooting with a cropped aspect ratio. Another feature of the Fujifilm X-E5 is the classic display mode for the built-in 2.36MP electronic viewfinder. Enabling this mode gives the viewfinder a vintage interface with red numbers showing exposure values, frame lines and exposure meter. The Fujifilm X-E5 is slightly larger and 80 grams heavier than its predecessor. On sale in the US market, the camera will be available in August at a price of $1699 for the ?body?, and bundled with the new XF 23mm f/2.8 R WR lens it will cost $1899. |
