Fujifilm has unveiled the GFX ETERNA 55 professional camera. It features an image sensor larger than a full-frame sensor, supports all current codecs, and offers a range of features required in the film industry.

The 102-megapixel GFX 102MP CMOS II HS sensor measures 43.8 x 32.9 mm (full frame is 36 x 23.9 mm). The camera supports Open Gate (48 fps) shooting mode, which allows you to use the entire sensor without adjusting to any standard aspect ratio.

The new model's ISO range is 400 to 12,800 (expandable to 25,600), and exposure is measured at 256 points. Among other features, the company highlights a dynamic range of 14 stops (F-Log2 and F-Log2 C), a shutter speed of 1/8 to 1/8000 seconds, and a maximum shooting resolution of 8192x4320 pixels (24 fps). Apple ProRes 422 HQ, ProRes 422, ProRes 422 LT, and H.265/HEVC codecs are supported.

Another feature of the camera is the ability to simulate 20 types of film, including REALA ACE and ACROS modes. There is also the option to manually load LUT tables. In addition, the new model supports the transmission of uncompressed data (10 and 12 bits, 4:2:2) via the HDMI port.

The camera body features two 3-inch screens and a 5-inch touchscreen display with a brightness of up to 2000 nits per square meter. Video can be recorded on CFExpress Type B and SD memory cards. The built-in battery provides enough power for 30 minutes of recording. The device measures 110 x 138 x 176 mm and weighs 2 kg.

The Fujifilm GFX ETERNA 55 will go on sale in the US market in October at a price of $16,499.
