ASUS has unveiled its Pro WS series of proprietary power supplies aimed at ?voracious? configurations with multiple graphics cards. It includes three models with rated power of 1600, 2200 and 3000W, supporting PCIe 5.1 and ATX 3.1 standards. The flagship version is equipped with four 12V-2x6 connectors, and in theory is capable of powering the same number of GeForce RTX 5090 graphics cards. All PSUs are protected against undervoltage/overvoltage, overheating, short-circuit, power and current overload. The 2000W model also gets four 16-pin connectors, but officially supports four RTX 5080 graphics cards, not the RTX 5090. The base 1600W version has only two of these connectors. All power supplies of the Pro WS lineup are 80 Plus Platinum certified and equipped with power factor correction, but they don't get the ?quiet? mode of operation, when the fan doesn't start at low load. The new products are designed for corporate or professional use. Prices and sales start date have not been announced yet. |
