The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted Apple a new patent that contains information about a new model of the company's Magic Mouse. The company intends to endow the device with tactile feedback, the realism of which goes beyond the usual vibration response. According to the developers' idea, with the help of Magic Mouse the user will be able to feel the texture: for example, movement on sand or sliding on ice. In accordance with this due to vibration and changing the level of grip with the surface through a special mechanism will create a feeling that would be required in reality to move the mouse on these surfaces. It is expected that this feature will be useful for designers when designing different types of textures. Some envisioned scenarios for the technology describe itself adjusting mouse movement depending on the game scene. For example, when a character is wading through water or carrying heavy equipment, the friction force will increase and the cursor movement will become slower than usual sensitivity level. Possible announcement date, detailed specifications and estimated price of the accessory are not yet known. |
