Following the announcement in China, AMD held an event on the global launch of new mid-range graphics cards Radeon RX 9070 and Radeon RX 9070 XT on RDNA 4 architecture. Along with this, the exact cost of the new products became known. As expected, the prices turned out to be very attractive, especially against the background of NVIDIA graphics cards. AMD Radeon RX 9070 and 9070 XT will go on sale on March 6 at the price of $549 and $599 respectively. Just a day earlier, NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5070 will be released with a price tag of $549, while sales of the more powerful GeForce RTX 5070 Ti recently started at $749. AMD claims that the new graphics cards allow you to run modern games in 4K resolution for the price of 1440p graphics cards. According to the company's own tests, the RX 9070 XT is on average 51% faster than the four-year-old RX 6900 XT when running games at 4K resolution at maximum settings and 26% faster than the four-year-old RTX 3090 under the same conditions. For example, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 delivers 53 fps at Ultra settings and 4K resolution. The graphics cards have 16 GB of GDDR6 video memory, DisplayPort 2.1a and HDMI 2.1b ports and PCIe 5.0 support. They utilize standard 8-pin power connectors. AMD also claims that there should be no availability issues with the new graphics cards at launch. |
