NVIDIA graphics cards are traditionally considered to be better than AMD solutions, especially in the high-end segment, but this opinion may be mistaken. The author of the YouTube channel Tech Notice showed that in some professional scenarios, the new Radeon RX 9070 can be significantly better than the much more expensive GeForce RTX 5090. In Photoshop tests, the Radeon RX 9070 took first place, outperforming the RTX 5090 by about 8%. At the same time, NVIDIA's flagship product only ranked eighth among the tested graphics cards. However, the overall gap between all participants was relatively small ? about 15%, which suggests that for most tasks, the difference between modern graphics cards is not as critical as is commonly believed. In Adobe Lightroom Classic, the results were more ambiguous. When processing RAW photos normally, the difference between the graphics cards was up to 11% in favor of AMD's solution. But when using AI-based tools, the situation changed: here, NVIDIA's solutions demonstrated higher performance, which is due to the peculiarities of AI algorithms. The importance of video memory capacity should be noted separately. 8 GB is sufficient for basic processing, but when working with 4K monitors, high-resolution images, or panoramas, the requirements are higher. For comfortable work with 100-megapixel images and 8K projects, 16 GB or more may be required. In this regard, many AMD graphics cards have an advantage, as they offer a large amount of memory even outside the top segment. At the same time, the author of the test emphasizes that the graphics card is not the main factor affecting speed in photo editors. The processor and the amount of RAM |
