AMD officially unveiled its updated roadmap for processors and graphics, confirming the release of the Gorgon line in 2026 and the flagship Medusa line in 2027. Both series will be part of the new generation of AI computers and will lay the foundation for the next generation of gaming graphics cards, which will replace RDNA. AMD's next big step will be the Gorgon Point series, scheduled for 2026. These processors will be an updated version of the current Strix and Kraken, featuring Zen 5 architecture, RDNA 3.5 graphics, and an XDNA 2 neuroprocessor. The line will receive new SKUs and energy efficiency improvements, targeting mass-market AI computers and gaming laptops. The main event of 2027 will be the arrival of Medusa Point, the first Zen 6-based processors. They will use a completely new graphics core and an updated next-generation XDNA AI accelerator. According to AMD Senior Vice President Jack Huynh, the company plans to increase AI performance more than 10 times by 2027. |
