The Alienware Area-51 desktop computer, unveiled earlier this year, was only available with Intel Arrow Lake chips, leaving AMD fans empty-handed. Now the company has rectified the situation by releasing versions based on the Ryzen 7 9800X3D and Ryzen 9 9950X3D. Both processors support the proprietary 3D V-Cache technology, which speeds up access to game data and significantly improves performance in cache-sensitive projects. They are installed on the X870E motherboard. The case and cooling system remain the same. The Area-51 uses an overpressure design with multiple fans: two 140 mm, a pair of 180 mm, and up to three 120 mm at the intake. Airflow is directed so that cold air cools the CPU In its maximum configuration with Ryzen 9 9950X3D, the computer delivers up to 200W of power to the processor and over 600W to the graphics, up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090. Up to 12TB of storage is available via three NVMe SSD PCIe Gen4 drives, each with 4TB. Alienware Area-51 models with AMD Ryzen 9000X3D processors are now available on the Alienware website. Prices start at $4349.99 for the version with Ryzen 7 9800X3D and GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card. Alienware promises more configurations with AMD and NVIDIA. |
