ADATA Technology has introduced a new lineup of MARS 980 SSDs to its portfolio of branded products. It includes STORM, BLADE and PRO models, each optimized for different scenarios, from gaming to AI tasks and high-performance computing. The MARS 980 STORM up to 4TB utilizes the PCIe Gen 5 x4 interface to achieve sequential read and write speeds of 14,000MB/s and 13,000MB/s respectively. The SSD features a built-in system that combines liquid and air cooling. The MARS 980 BLADE and MARS 980 PRO have the same key features as the STORM. Separately, the MARS 980 BLADE is targeted at compact systems: notebooks and mini-PCs. The drive is based on a 6nm controller that provides low power consumption and efficient temperature management. The MARS 980 PRO, on the other hand, gets an aluminum alloy heatsink, which in combination with an active fan effectively dissipates heat, reducing temperatures by 15% compared to fanless solutions. Like STORM, it is powered directly through M.2. The drive is available in versions up to 4TB and is optimized for gaming consoles. The price of the ADATA MARS 980 SSD is not yet known. |
