Xiaomi has updated its affordable 27-inch QHD QHD (Quad High Definition) is a resolution standard for high-end monitors, televisions and mobile devices. QHD is specified as 2560x1440 pixels at a16x9 aspect ratio, four times that of 720p standard high definition. Ultra wide QHD boosts the horizontal pixels to 3440 for a 21x9 aspect ratio. QHD is a resolution suitable to large-size screens. On mobile devices, given the 5.5 inch screens, QHD makes for a very high pixel density of 538dpi. QHD is on the horizon for higher end smartphones. A27Qi monitor with the release of the 2026 version. Compared to its predecessor, the new model has an increased screen refresh rate, improved contrast, and color accuracy.
The new model uses an IPS In Plane Switching (IPS) panels are an expensive option but they have excellent colour accuracy and far greater viewing angles then TN and VA panels (Not that we condone slouching while gaming). They are great for graphics design and photo editing. However, the only downside to IPS panels if that they can sometimes have a slower response time than TN panels. This is the only real problem if you’re a very competitive gamer or want to game in 3D. As of late “IPS” has become a big marketing word. Step into an Apple store and you would be hard pressed talking to someone that didn’t mention Apple’s “brand new IPS Displays!” In fact, Apple is probably one of the biggest marketers of this “new-found” technology. As a business person myself, this is when you have to tip your hat to Apple’s awesome marketing machine. Why? Well, because IPS is actually nothing new. In fact, this technology was originally invented in 1996 by Hitachi..display with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels, a maximum brightness of 300 nits, a response time of 6 ms GtG, and a viewing angle of 178 degrees. The monitor also retains support for 8-bit color depth, 100% sRGB and 95% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, TÜV Rheinland certification, and screen flicker reduction technology.
A significant improvement in the A27Qi 2026 is the factory calibration of ΔE <1. This will ensure more accurate color reproduction, which is necessary, for example, when editing photos or creating content. The contrast ratio has increased to 1300:1 for deeper blacks and better visibility of dark scenes, and the refresh rate now reaches 120 Hz compared to 100 Hz in the original model.
In China, the Xiaomi A27Qi 2026 is priced at $160. The monitor is expected to be released on the global market soon.
