ViewSonic has unveiled the VX25G26-2K-4 gaming monitor with a refresh rate of up to 400 Hz. In its advertising campaign, the manufacturer has focused on this feature and has not equipped the new product with additional ?bells and whistles? such as built-in speakers or a stand with multiple adjustments.
The ViewSonic VX25G26-2K-4 is equipped with a 24.5-inch IPS In Plane Switching (IPS) panels are an expensive option but they have excellent colour accuracy and far greater viewing angles then TN and VA panels (Not that we condone slouching while gaming). They are great for graphics design and photo editing. However, the only downside to IPS panels if that they can sometimes have a slower response time than TN panels. This is the only real problem if you’re a very competitive gamer or want to game in 3D. As of late “IPS” has become a big marketing word. Step into an Apple store and you would be hard pressed talking to someone that didn’t mention Apple’s “brand new IPS Displays!” In fact, Apple is probably one of the biggest marketers of this “new-found” technology. As a business person myself, this is when you have to tip your hat to Apple’s awesome marketing machine. Why? Well, because IPS is actually nothing new. In fact, this technology was originally invented in 1996 by Hitachi..panel with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels, a brightness of up to 450 nits, and a response time of 1 ms (GtG). The panel's stock refresh rate is 360 Hz, and with overclocking it can be increased to 400 Hz. The monitor's color gamut is 100% sRGB and 98% P3, with a static contrast ratio of 1000:1.
The new model's set of interfaces includes two HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 connectors, as well as a 3.5 mm headphone port. A blue light filter and flicker-free backlighting are used to protect your eyes, while VRR technology improves image smoothness. There are no speakers, nor is there a height adjustment function: you can only tilt the monitor forward and backward.
The monitor was announced in China, but its price and release date have not yet been announced.
