German brand Tuxedo Computers has unveiled the InfinityBook Max 15 laptop with powerful hardware, optimized for Linux. The new product is positioned as a device for gaming and professional work.
The laptop features a 15.3-inch IPS In Plane Switching (IPS) panels are an expensive option but they have excellent colour accuracy and far greater viewing angles then TN and VA panels (Not that we condone slouching while gaming). They are great for graphics design and photo editing. However, the only downside to IPS panels if that they can sometimes have a slower response time than TN panels. This is the only real problem if you’re a very competitive gamer or want to game in 3D. As of late “IPS” has become a big marketing word. Step into an Apple store and you would be hard pressed talking to someone that didn’t mention Apple’s “brand new IPS Displays!” In fact, Apple is probably one of the biggest marketers of this “new-found” technology. As a business person myself, this is when you have to tip your hat to Apple’s awesome marketing machine. Why? Well, because IPS is actually nothing new. In fact, this technology was originally invented in 1996 by Hitachi..display with a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels, a refresh rate of 300 Hz, a brightness of up to 500 cd/m², and 100% sRGB color gamut coverage.
The top version of the new product is based on a 12-core Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor paired with a discrete NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card. The maximum amount of DDR5 RAM Random Access Memory (RAM) is the place in a computer where the operating system, application programs, and data in current use are kept so that they can be quickly reached by the computers processor. is 128 GB, and the maximum storage capacity (PCIe 4.0) is 4 TB.
According to the manufacturer, the dual-fan cooling system is capable of handling a TDP of up to 150W, while the GPU GPU-accelerated computing is the use of a graphics processing unit (GPU) together with a CPU to accelerate deep learning, analytics, and engineering applications. power limit can be adjusted from 45 to 115W using proprietary software. The laptop's battery life is provided by a 99 Wh battery (up to 10 hours of operation depending on the load level).
The new model's chassis features USB 4 and USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports, three USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1, Mini DisplayPort 2.1, Ethernet, and an SD memory card slot. The operating system out of the box is Tuxedo OS, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, or Windows 11, at the buyer's choice.
The price of the laptop in Europe starts at ?1689 for the base configuration with a Ryzen AI 7 350 processor, RTX 5060 graphics card, 16 GB of RAM Random Access Memory (RAM) is the place in a computer where the operating system, application programs, and data in current use are kept so that they can be quickly reached by the computers processor., and 1 TB of storage. Sales are scheduled to start in early December.
