TECNO announced the new POVA 8 5G smartphone for the Russian market. The model features a unique feature: an interactive mini-display on the back. Additionally, the device boasts a capacious battery and a high-refresh-rate display. A mini-pixel screen is integrated into the camera module. It displays notifications, incoming call information, charging status, music playback, and game launches. Users can choose from preset lighting scenarios or create their own animations. The case itself features the signature POVA series design with translucent elements. A MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G processor is responsible for performance. TECNO also installed two proprietary chips: the G1 for improved mobile connection quality and the SE1 for increased Wi-Fi Another unique feature of the device is its 8,000 mAh battery?one of the largest in its class. According to the manufacturer, a full charge should last approximately two days of typical use, and the battery life is rated for 2,000 charge cycles with over 80% of its original capacity retained. The camera module includes a 50 MP main module with a Sony LYTIA 600 sensor and a 13 MP front-facing camera. Additional features include AI-powered tools for photo editing, noise reduction during calls, and text processing. An "AI Health" feature is also announced for the Russian market, which uses the front camera to monitor heart rate, blood oxygen levels, respiratory rate, and other metrics. The POVA 8 5G runs HiOS 16, based on Android 16. The manufacturer promises two major Android updates and three years of security patches. Sales of the smartphone in Russia will begin in August 2026. The device will be available in four colors: black, white, blue-green, and creamy peach. |
