PetaIO has announced the release of a solid-state drive featuring its proprietary controller and the latest PCI-Express 6.0 interface. The manufacturer claims that the new product processes data nearly twice as fast as current-generation flagship models. According to the specifications, the proprietary SSD supports a sequential read speed of 28 GB/s, compared to 14.5 GB/s for PCIe 5.0 models. The type of memory cells is not specified, but it is known that the drive uses a 6nm Titanium Himalaya controller, which ?boosts? the new model to 50 million IOPS (512 bytes). The brand's future flagship drives will also be built on the Titanium Himalaya platform. PetaIO also discussed its Memory Semantic Fusion Storage technology. It delivers ?terabyte-level? throughput via the CXL interface for a 256 TB SSD. The drive showcased at MemoryS 2026 is positioned as a solution for data centers. The launch date and pricing for these upcoming products have not yet been announced. |
