Sharge's latest innovation is the Flash Drive Pro portable solid-state drive. It stands out from most of its counterparts thanks to its unusual design: the SSD case also serves as a USB hub and docking station for outputting images from a laptop to an external display.
In addition to the 1.2 or 4 TB drive itself, the compact (90 x 61 x 11 mm) Sharge Flash Drive Pro case houses two USB-A ports, as well as one HDMI 2.1 (4K@144 Hz and 8K@30 Hz) and one USB-C With the continued success of the USB interface, there exists a need to adapt USB technology to serve newer computing platforms and devices as they trend toward smaller, thinner and lighter form-factors. The claimed SSD data transfer speed for the 1 and 2 TB memory versions (TLC cells manufactured by SanDisk) is up to 1000 MB/s. To improve stability under load, an active cooling system with a fan speed of up to 10,000 rpm is used.
Thanks to built-in magnets, the gadget can be easily attached to the metal body of a laptop or the back cover of modern iPhone models. The new product is already on sale in the Chinese market. The 1, 2, and 4 TB versions cost $228, $371, and $513, respectively.
