In a recent leak, insider Digital Chat Station shared details about the upcoming REDMI K100 smartphone. The source revealed the device's specifications and noted a significant increase in its price. The REDMI K100 is expected to feature a 6.56-inch display with 1.5K resolution, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, an 8,000 mAh battery, and a main camera with a 200-megapixel sensor. The new model will also be IP68  IP (or "Ingress Protection") ratings are defined in international standard EN 60529 (British BS EN 60529:1992, European IEC 60509:1989). They are used to define levels of sealing effectiveness of electrical enclosures against intrusion from foreign bodies (tools, dirt etc) and moisture. The numbers that follow IP each have a specific meaning. The first indicates the degree of protection (of people) from moving parts, as well as the protection of enclosed equipment from foreign bodies. The second defines the protection level that the enclosure enjoys from various forms of moisture (drips, sprays, submersion etc). /69-rated, feature symmetrically placed speakers, and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.According to the source, the model will cost approximately $585, which is 54% higher than the starting price of the current K90. The smartphone is expected to launch in October of this year, and it will hit the global market under the POCO brand as early as the beginning of 2027. |
