Panasonic has launched the smallest full-frame zoom lens on the market

panasonic-

Another new product from Panasonic is the Lumix S 18-40mm f/4.5-6.3 mirrorless zoom lens designed for the Lumix S9 full-frame camera. The company claims that it is the most compact and lightweight lens in its class: its diameter is just 67.9mm, length when folded is 40.9mm, and weight is 155g.

The Lumix S 18-40mm has an aperture range of f/4.5 to f/6.3. With this, Panasonic claims that the lens provides a ?subtle? depth-of-field effect when shooting at maximum aperture at minimum focusing distance.

The accessory's focal length range is from 18mm to 120mm using the hybrid zoom function on the Lumix S9 camera. The minimum shooting distance is 15cm. Another notable feature of the Lumix S 18-40mm f/4.5-6.3 was the suppression of the so-called ?focus breathing? effect.

The design of the Lumix S 18-40mm f/4.5-6.3 consists of eight lenses, including three aspherical elements, two ultra-low dispersion (ED) elements and one ultra-high refraction (UHR) element. The lens is dust and splash-proof and can withstand temperatures as low as -10?C. A fluoride coating on the front element of the lens repels debris and dust, according to the manufacturer.

Panasonic Lumix S 18-40mm f/4.5-6.3 will go on sale in mid-November at a price of $499. In addition, the novelty will be available as a bundle with the Lumix S9 mirrorless camera at a price of $1799.
