1. Keyboard shortcut keys
Keyboard shortcuts can be used to capture an image, on the Mac screen:
Press Command+Shift+3 to take a screenshot of your MacBook screen.
Press Command+Shift+4 if you want to capture a specific part of the screen and drag your mouse with the touchpad to select an area of the screen, and release the mouse to take a screenshot, or press Esc to cancel your MacBook screen capture.
2. Using Screenshot Toolbar
Your MacBook has a built-in application, the Screenshot Toolbar, and to open it, press Command+Shift+5 or type Screenshot in Launchpad on your MacBook.
At the bottom of the screen you will see a menu with different screenshot options: Capture whole screen, Capture selected window, Capture selected area of your choice.
