| I feel certain that no one will respond to my question but I really do love my used Inspiron 1520. Most every manufacturer made "solid" laptops in those days when the 1520 was introduced but in recent years have opted for light weight instead of quality and durability. I quit buying new Dell units for several reasons, one of which is the fact that Dell QuickSet has been a corrupt download on the official Dell Support since 2013 and Dell has done nothing to correct that download. A pity! Please, why is that so? Thank you. | ||

| The 1520 is a solid piece of work. These days laptops are of lower build quality. Strong build quality is preferable, but that also means that they will last longer, manufacturers do not like that, they want to sell more units. Als you should try run linux, if you do not already.
