In addition to ?removing? the graphics core in iPad Air, Apple appeared to hide one feature of iPad Pro with M4 processor - but this time it did it in a positive context. The unannounced feature, discovered by an enthusiast, enhances the privacy of the gadget by default without any additional settings. Apple A Mastodon social network user under the nickname Gui Rembo reported that the iPad Pro (2024) uses a new microphone and camera power indicator. It's a green and orange dot that lights up on the display when an app is operating the camera or microphone. As it turns out, unlike other Apple devices, in the new tablets these dots are controlled not by software, but by hardware. In theory, this approach significantly reduces the likelihood that malware will be able to disable the indicators, hiding the wiretapping or peeping. According to the authors of the portal 9To5Mac, the company did not tell about this feature only for the reason that similar indicators on the iPhone and other Apple devices against this background would look less secure. |
