GeIL has unveiled its Spear V memory modules. While they do not meet the highest DDR5-8000 standard on the market, there is an important caveat: this effective speed is available by default, even without overclocking. The new memory complies with the JEDEC standard and operates in DDR5-8000 mode out of the box with CL64-64-64-128 timings. The stock voltage is also standard: 1.1 V. By gaming PC standards, these aren't the best specs, but the modules shouldn't have compatibility issues even with budget motherboards. The manufacturer claims that the memory is optimized for use with Intel processors (Core Ultra 270K Plus, 265K, 245K, and others) on motherboards with B860 and Z890 chipsets. The release date and retail price of the GeIL Spear V will be announced at a later date. |
